Central City, Kentucky, US is a home rule class city and the county seat of Muhlenberg County. It was established in 1826 and incorporated in 1840. The city was named after the central location in the county. Central City is known for the historic E.M. Drake Coal Office, a well-preserved example of a 19th-century coal company office.
