Flat Lick, Kentucky is an unincorporated community in Knox County, established in the late 1700s. It was a popular stopover for settlers traveling along the Wilderness Road. The community is named after a nearby natural salt lick, which attracted wildlife and Native Americans prior to European settlement. Flat Lick is home to the historic Flat Lick Baptist Church, which was founded in 1798 and is one of the oldest churches in the county.
