Fredonia, Kentucky is a small town located in Caldwell County in the western part of the state. It was established in the early 1800s and named after the Latin word for "freedom." The town is home to the historic Fredonia Female Academy, a private school founded in 1836 that is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Fredonia is also known for its annual Black Patch Tobacco Festival, which celebrates the town's rich history in tobacco farming.
