Glen Burnie, Maryland, located in Anne Arundel County, was founded in the 1800s and incorporated in 1930. It was named after a colonial plantation, Glen Burnie House, built in 1770. The community grew around the Glen Burnie train station, which opened in 1887. A notable landmark is the B&A Trail, a popular rail trail for biking, jogging, and horseback riding, that runs through Glen Burnie.
