Mars Hill is a town in Aroostook County, Maine, US, near the Canadian border. Established in 1824, it was named after Mars Hill in the Bible where the prophet Balaam had a vision. The town is known for its notable attraction, the Mars Hill Monument, a 50-foot granite monument built in 1914 to commemorate the vision. Mars Hill is also home to the University of Maine at Presque Isle's observatory, which houses the largest telescope in Maine.
