Wells, Maine, US is a town in York County, established in 1643. It was originally part of the territory known as Wells, which included what are now the towns of Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, Arundel, and Ogunquit. The town is named after the many springs and brooks in the area. Wells is home to the historic Old Constitution House, built in 1719, which served as the meeting place for the first constitutional government in Maine. The town offers 7 miles of sandy beaches and is a popular summer destination.
