Adrian, MI, US is the county seat of Lenawee County, established in 1826. It was named after Adrian Boothe, a surveyor. The city has a rich history in manufacturing, including the first automobile self-starter produced by Charles Kettering in 1911. A notable landmark is the Adrian Dominican Sisters Motherhouse and Church, a historic site with beautiful architecture and gardens. Today, Adrian is home to around 20,000 residents and continues to be an important center for education and industry in southeastern Michigan.
