Cassopolis is a village in southwest Michigan, United States, and the county seat of Cass County. It was settled in 1825 and incorporated in 1863. The village was named after the local Cass Lake and the Ojibwe word "kas" meaning "sturgeon". Cassopolis is home to the Cass County Fair, an annual event that has taken place since 1851, attracting thousands of visitors each year.
