Emmett, MI, US is a village located in St. Clair County, founded in 1886. It was named after Emmett Renshaw, the son of a local landowner. The village was primarily a farming community, but the discovery of clay deposits led to the establishment of brickyards. Emmett is home to the Michigan Underwater Preserve, a notable landmark featuring several shipwrecks and dive sites. Today, the village has a population of approximately 300 people.
