Howard City, Michigan is a village located in Montcalm County in the western part of the lower peninsula. It was settled in the 1850s and incorporated as a village in 1883. The town was named after Eber Howard, an early settler and businessman. The village is known for the Howard City Community Park, which features a variety of recreational facilities including a pool, playground, and sports fields. Today, the village has a population of approximately 1,800 residents.
