Ovid is a small city in Michigan, US, established in 1845 and incorporated in 1913. It was named after the ancient Roman poet Ovid by its founder, Elijah Wood, who also founded the nearby city of Grand Rapids. The city is located in the southeastern part of Ionia County and has a population of approximately 1,600.
