Sterling, MI is a village located in Arenac County in the U.S state of Michigan. It was established in 1887 and named after Sterling, Illinois, the hometown of one of the first settlers. The village is known for its annual Polar Bear Festival, which attracts visitors from around the state. Sterling is home to the historic Sterling Union Church, built in 1893, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
