Bloomfield, Missouri is a town in Stoddard County, established in 1839. It was named after Robert E. Bloomfield, a local merchant. The town served as a stop on the Iron Mountain Railroad and was incorporated in 1870. Bloomfield is home to the historic Clay County Courthouse, built in 1890, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The town has a population of approximately 1,800 residents and covers an area of 1.6 square miles.
