Laurie, Missouri is a city in Morgan County, US, established in the late 1800s. It was named after Laura Hazelrigg, the daughter of an early settler. The city is best known for its annual "Laurie Hillbilly Days" festival, which has been held since 1982 and attracts thousands of visitors each year. Laurie is also home to the famous "Big Tree" at the Laurie Fairgrounds, a massive oak tree believed to be over 200 years old.
