Saint James, Missouri, US is a city in Phelps County, established in the mid-19th century. It was incorporated in 1869 and named after the St. James River. The city played a significant role during the Civil War as a stop on the Southwest Missouri Railroad. A notable landmark is the St. James Railroad Depot, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. Saint James is also known for its wineries, earning it the title of "Route du Vin" or Wine Road in the 1980s.
