Unionville, Missouri is a small town in Putnam County, established in 1853. It was named after a nearby Union Pacific Railroad line. The town is known for its well-preserved historic buildings, including the Putnam County Courthouse, built in 1868 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Unionville was the birthplace of famous American poet, Sara Teasdale, who won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1918.
