Flora, Mississippi, located in Madison County, was incorporated in 1886. The town was named after Flora McLeod, the daughter of an early settler. During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Flora thrived as a center for timber and railroad industries. Today, it is home to the historic Natchez Trace Parkway, a 444-mile scenic drive that commemorates the Old Natchez Trace used by Native Americans, European settlers, and future presidents.
