Moselle, Mississippi is a small town located in Jasper County, founded in 1833. It was named after the Moselle River in France. The town was a prosperous agricultural center in the 19th century, known for its cotton plantations. During the Civil War, Moselle was occupied by Union troops. Today, the town is home to the historic Moselle Memorial Baptist Church, established in 1851, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
