Salemburg, NC, US is a small town in Sampson County, founded in the mid-1800s. It was named after the Salem Methodist Church, which was established in 1818. The town is home to the Salemburg Academy, a private school founded in 1969. Salemburg is also known for the House in the Horseshoe, a historic plantation house that was the site of a Revolutionary War battle. The house, built in 1772, is now a North Carolina Historic Site and open for tours.
