Mantua, New Jersey, US is a township in Gloucester County, established in 1853. It was named after Mantua, a city in Italy, and was originally a farming community. The township is known for its historic district, which includes the Old Zion Lutheran Church, built in 1760 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. Today, Mantua is a residential community with a population of approximately 15,000.
