Truth or Consequence is a city in Sierra County, New Mexico, US. It was originally named "Hot Springs" due to its numerous hot springs, but was renamed in 1950 after a radio show asked listeners to suggest a new name for the town. The show's host, Ralph Edwards, promised to attend the town's annual fair if the name was changed to "Truth or Consequences." The town agreed, and Edwards kept his promise, attending the fair and broadcasting his show from there. A notable attraction in Truth or Consequences is the Geronimo Springs Museum, which showcases the history and culture of the region.
