Canandaigua is a city in Ontario County, New York, with a population of approximately 10,500 as of 2019. The city is situated on the northern shore of Canandaigua Lake, one of the Finger Lakes, and is the county seat of Ontario County. Canandaigua has a rich history, having been settled in the late 18th century and incorporated as a city in 1848. The city was an important stop on the Underground Railroad and was home to the first women's rights convention in 1848. A notable attraction in Canandaigua is the Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion State Historic Park, a 50-acre estate with nine formal gardens and a Victorian mansion.
