Dewitt, New York is a town located in Onondaga County, in the central part of the state. It was established in 1825 and named after DeWitt Clinton, a former governor of New York. The town covers an area of 40 square miles and has a population of approximately 27,000 residents. A notable landmark in Dewitt is the Eisenhower Golf Course, a public 18-hole golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones.
