Freeville is a village in Tompkins County, New York, United States. Established in 1855, it was originally a part of the town of Dryden before becoming an independent entity. The village is named after John Free, an early settler and mill owner. Freeville is home to the Dryden Rail Trail, a popular attraction for outdoor enthusiasts, which spans 7.5 miles and connects to the larger multi-use trail system in the region.
