Maine is a town in Broome County, New York, United States. It was established in 1801, originally as a part of the town of Union. The town was named after the state of Maine due to the large number of residents who had migrated from there. Maine is home to the Maine Memorial Library, a notable landmark that was established in 1936 in honor of the town's veterans. The library is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
