Montour Falls is a village in Schuyler County, New York, United States, located near the southern tip of Seneca Lake. The village was incorporated in 1833 and has a population of approximately 1,700. It is named after the Montour Falls, a 156-foot tall waterfall located on the edge of the village, which is a popular tourist attraction. The falls flow over a layer of soft shale, which has eroded over time, creating the cascading effect. The village is also home to the Montour Falls Memorial Library and the Southeast Steuben County Library.
