The town covers an area of 37.6 square miles, with a population of approximately 3,500 as of 2019. A notable attraction is the Ganondagan State Historic Site, the only New York State historic site dedicated to Native American history and culture, preserving the 17th century Seneca Nation's town of Ganondagan.
