Poughquag is a hamlet located in the town of East Fishkill, Dutchess County, New York, US. Its name is derived from the Wappinger word Pquaq, meaning "a stream that flows through a flat area." The area was settled in the late 18th century and experienced growth with the arrival of the railroad in the mid-19th century. A notable landmark is the Poughquag Railroad Station, which was built in 1893 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
