Ripley, NY is a town located in Chautauqua County, in the western part of New York State, US. It was established in 1816 and named after General Eleazar Wheelock Ripley, a hero of the War of 1812. The town covers an area of 36.6 square miles, with a population of approximately 2,000 residents. Ripley is home to the Ripley Castle, a historic landmark that was built in 1833 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
