Scottsville is a town in Monroe County, New York, US, founded in 1821 and named after its first settler, Jonathan Scott. It is located on the Genesee River's south bank, 12 miles south of Rochester. The town is known for its historic district, the Scottsville Main Street District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1983. The district features 19th-century architecture, including the Greek Revival-style Scottsville Free Library, built in 1867.
