Williamson, New York is a town in Wayne County, established in 1802 and named after its first settler, Jonas Williams. It is located in the northwestern part of the Finger Lakes region and has a population of approximately 6,000. The town is known for its rural character and the historic Erie Canal, which passes through its southern part. The Canalway Trail, a popular attraction for hiking and biking, follows the route of the old canal.
