Camden, Ohio, US is a small city in Preble County, established in 1803. It was named after Camden, New Jersey, and was the county seat until 1850. The city is known for its historical architecture, including the Italianate-style Preble County Courthouse, built in 1851. Camden was a stop on the Underground Railroad, a network of secret routes and safe houses used by enslaved African Americans to escape to freedom in the North. Today, it has a population of approximately 2,000 people and offers a variety of recreational activities, such as fishing and boating at the nearby Hueston Woods State Park.
