Cleves, Ohio, US is a small village located in Hamilton County, along the Ohio River. It was established in 1818 and named after the Dukes of Cleves, a historic region in Germany. The village covers an area of 2.5 square miles and had a population of 3,351 as of the 2020 census. Cleves is home to the historic Williamsburg Historic District, which features several well-preserved buildings from the 19th century. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
