New Springfield, Ohio, US is a village in Mahoning County, established in 1831 and incorporated in 1869. It was named after Springfield, Massachusetts, the original home of many of its early settlers. The village is known for its historic district, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, which features many well-preserved examples of Greek Revival and Italianate architecture from the mid-19th century. One notable landmark is the New Springfield Presbyterian Church, built in 1841, which is a fine example of Greek Revival style and a centerpiece of the historic district.
