Newbury, OH, US is a township in Geauga County, established in 1809 and named after Newbury, Vermont. It was primarily an agricultural community, with the first school opening in 1811. The township covers an area of 35.8 square miles, and as of 2010, the population was 5,635. A notable attraction is the Newbury United Methodist Church, built in 1840, which is a beautiful example of Greek Revival architecture.
