Owensville, Ohio, US is a village in Clermont County, established in 1797. It was named after its founder, General Rufus Putnam, who was also one of the original members of the Ohio Company of Associates. The village was originally a part of the Symmes Purchase, a large tract of land acquired by John Cleves Symmes. Owensville is home to the Loveland Castle, a notable attraction built in the early 20th century by Harry Andrews, who was inspired by the medieval architecture of Europe.
