Perry, Ohio is a village located in Lake County, in the northeastern part of the state. It was established in 1816 and named after Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry, a hero of the War of 1812. The village is home to the Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial, which honors those who fought in the Battle of Lake Erie during the War of 1812. Today, Perry has a population of approximately 1,700 people and covers an area of 1.5 square miles.
