Salineville is a village in Columbiana County, Ohio, United States. Established in 1806, it was named for the saline springs in the area. The village is known for the Battle of Salineville, which took place on July 26, 1863, during the American Civil War. It was the final engagement of Confederate General John Hunt Morgan's raid into the North. A notable attraction is the Morgan House, where Morgan and several of his officers were held captive before being taken to Columbus for imprisonment.
