Spencer, Ohio is a village located in northern Medina County. It was established in 1826 and named after Spencer Cable, the son of a local landowner. The village was incorporated in 1853 and has since grown to a population of around 1,100 residents. Spencer is home to the historic Spencer Church, which was built in 1842 and is one of the oldest churches in the county. The village is also known for its annual Spencer Picnic, which has been held annually since 1855 and features food, games, and entertainment for the community.
