Agra, Oklahoma is a town in Lincoln County, established in 1901 during the expansion of the Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railroad. It was named after Agra, India, due to the railroad company's practice of naming towns after cities in other countries. The town's growth was driven by agriculture, particularly wheat and cotton farming. Agra is home to the Agra State Park, which features a historic fortified mansion, the Fort Gibson Stockade, built in the 1840s and relocated to Agra in the 1930s.
