Calera is a town in Bryan County, Oklahoma, United States. It was established in 1902 and named after the Calera formation, a type of limestone. The town was originally a railroad community, serving as a division point for the St. Louis and San Francisco Railroad. Calera is home to the historic Choctaw Nation Capitol Building, which was the seat of government for the Choctaw Nation from 1884 to 1907. Today, the town has a population of approximately 2,000 and is a rural community with a rich history.
