Hugo, OK, US is a town in Choctaw County, established in 1901. It was named after a French engineer, Jean Baptiste Huguo, who worked on the Kansas City, Pittsburg and Gulf Railroad. The town served as a hub for the timber industry and later became known for its poultry processing. Notable attractions include the historic Choctaw Nation Capitol Building, which was the seat of government for the Choctaw Nation before statehood.
