Willamina, Oregon, US is a city in Yamhill County, established in 1911 and incorporated in 1912. It was named after Willamina Creek, which in turn was named after a Native American woman from the Kalapuya tribe. The city was a logging town and had a mill, which was the primary economic driver. The mill closed in the 1950s, leading to a decline in population. Today, the city has a population of around 2,000 and is known for the Willamina City Park, a notable attraction with a large community swimming pool and picnic areas.
