Bethel Park is a township in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States, established in 1885. It was primarily a farming community until the early 20th century when coal mining and construction of the Turtle Creek Valley railroad line spurred growth. The population significantly increased after World War II, leading to the development of residential areas and commercial districts. The township is home to the South Hills Village, a notable shopping mall that has been a significant retail destination since its opening in 1965.
