Houston is a borough in Washington County, Pennsylvania, United States. It was established in 1838 and named after Samuel Houston, the president of the Republic of Texas at that time. The community is known for its historic architecture, including the Houston Baptist Church, built in 1895. The town was a significant center for the coal and timber industries in the 19th century. Today, it has a population of approximately 1,200 residents.
