Linglestown is a census-designated place (CDP) in Swatara Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, US. Its history dates back to 1765 when it was established as a small farming community. The community was named after a Native American chief, Lingle, who inhabited the area before European settlers arrived. The CDP is known for its historic Linglestown Square, which features the historic Linglestown Inn, built in 1765, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
