Sharpsburg, PA, US is a borough in Allegheny County, established in 1830. It was named after William Sharpe, a local businessman. The community played a significant role in the American Civil War as the site of the Battle of Sharpsburg, also known as the Battle of Antietam. The borough is home to the historic Andy Warhol Bridge, originally built in 1926 as the Seventh Street Bridge, which was renamed in 2005 to honor the famous pop artist who was born in Pittsburgh.
