Jamestown is a small town in Berkeley County, South Carolina, US. It was established in 1761 and was named after Jamestown, Virginia. The town played a significant role during the American Revolution as it was the site of several skirmishes. Today, Jamestown is home to the historic Mepkin Abbey, a Trappist monastery founded in 1949 on the former plantation of Henry and Clare Boothe Luce.
