Niota is a town in McMinn County, Tennessee, US, established in the late 19th century. It was incorporated in 1901 and named after the Niota tribe, a Native American group that once inhabited the area. The town covers a small area of 1.3 square miles and had a population of 702 as of the 2010 census. Niota is home to the historic Niota Depot, a former railway station built in 1890, which now serves as a museum and community center.
