Vonore, Tennessee, US is a small town in Sevier County with a population of approximately 1,500. It was established in the late 18th century and has a rich Native American history, being the site of several Cherokee settlements. The town was a key location during the Trail of Tears, a tragic period in which the US government forcibly relocated Native Americans from the southeastern United States. Vonore is home to the Fort Loudoun State Historic Park, a replica of a British colonial fort built in 1756.
